My private dog training sessions are suitable for common, real-life training needs, including puppy training, loose lead walking, recall and scent work for pet dogs. We focus on skills that genuinely make day-to-day life easier, whether that’s calmer behaviour at home, better focus outdoors, or giving your dog a safe outlet for their natural instincts.

What 1-2-1 Training Is Not Suitable For

These sessions are not designed for dogs with reactivity towards people or other dogs, aggression of any description, separation anxiety, or complex behavioural issues.

Session Length and Pricing

Each 1-2-1 dog training session lasts 45 minutes.

Ongoing training is booked as a block of four sessions, priced at £180. Working in blocks allows us to build skills gradually and properly, giving you time to practise between sessions and avoiding the pressure to fix everything in one appointment.

Pre-puppy / dog sessions are available as a single 45-minute session, priced at £40. These are ideal if you’re preparing for a puppy or new rescue dog and want calm, practical guidance from the very start.

Training Location in Johnshaven, Angus

Sessions take place at Damside House (DD10 0HY).

You’ll train in a cosy indoor barn with a woodburner for colder days, with access to around 8 acres of private woodland for outdoor training when appropriate. The quiet, secure setting is ideal for learning and thinking, with real-life distractions provided by resident alpacas, geese and chickens when useful.
