Homework Club
Dog Training Practice Sessions
Have you completed one of my classes — like Pulling to Perfect, Reliable Recall, Smart Puppy, or Scent Work ORT Training — and want a calm space to keep practising?
Welcome to Homework Club!
These relaxed, non-taught sessions are perfect for anyone who wants to keep their training on track.
Bring your dog, something to work on, and enjoy focused practice time in a safe, private setting without the pressure of formal lessons.
Held at Damside House, Johnshaven, Montrose. DD10 0HY

What to Expect
Homework Club is a calm, structured practice session — not a social playtime.
It’s designed to help you train your dog around other dogs without the pressure of public spaces.
Here’s how it works:
✅ All dogs must stay on lead or long line unless I’ve given specific permission for an off-lead exercise
✅ Maximum 4 dogs per session for a quiet, focused environment
✅ You’ll work on your own training goals — there’s no formal teaching, but I’m on hand to support if needed
✅ Sessions last 1 hour, giving you quality time to practise without interruptions
By keeping dogs on leads and limiting numbers, we make sure everyone feels comfortable and can train in a controlled, distraction-based setting.

Why Join Homework Club?
It’s easy to lose momentum once a course finishes. Homework Club gives you the chance to:
Keep building on the games you have learnt in class.
Practise focus around other dogs and distractions.
Train with real-life distractions in a controlled environment
The group can choose the best space for their training:
The cosy old potting shed – ideal for wet weather and indoor focus work
The enclosed paddock – around the chickens and geese
The private woodland – for real-life distraction training

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to have done one of your courses to join?
Yes. Homework Club is only for current or past students of my Pulling to Perfect, Reliable Recall, Smart Puppy, or Scent Work courses. This keeps the group safe and ensures everyone is familiar with my training methods. You will need a password to book, drop Laura a message to get it.
Is Homework Club a social play session for dogs?
No. Homework Club is a training-focused session. It’s not for off-lead play or socialising with other dogs. The aim is to practise your skills around distractions in a controlled, calm environment.
Will my dog be off-lead?
All dogs must stay on a lead or long line unless I’ve given you specific permission for a particular exercise. This keeps the session safe for everyone and prevents any unwanted interactions.
Do you teach during Homework Club?
No formal teaching is provided. This is your time to practise your own training goals. I’ll be there to supervise and make sure the environment stays safe and calm — and I’m happy to answer a quick question if needed.
What if my dog barks or struggles around other dogs?
That’s okay — this is a great opportunity to practise in a controlled setting! Just let me know in advance so we can make sure the session works for you.
How do I book?
You book week by week — just pick the sessions that suit you. Each session is £10 and limited to 4 dogs for a calm, quiet environment. You will need to ask Laura for the booking password
