Scent Work Demo Team
Our demo team isn’t made up of police dogs or professional sniffer dogs – they’re normal pet dogs and their owners. These dogs have discovered the joy of using their most powerful sense: their nose.
Every dog loves to sniff, and scent work turns that natural talent into a fun and rewarding activity. From spaniels to chihuahuas, our team is proof that any breed, any size, any age can learn to search for a specific scent.
Their owners are everyday dog lovers who started learning scent work in classes at Laura Carter Canines. Now, they’ve joined forces to showcase just how amazing – and fun – this hobby can be. Watching the teamwork between dog and handler as they solve mysteries will leave you smiling, laughing, and in awe of what dogs can do when they follow their nose!
The Murder of Monty the Monkey
This year’s demo is a comedy crime caper with a twist! Poor Monty the Monkey has been found dead, surrounded by fluff. But who did it? Where did it happen? And what was the weapon?
Our dogs will put their incredible noses to the test, searching for scent clues hidden around the arena to crack the case.
Where was Monty murdered?
How did it happen?
Who’s the culprit?
The suspects are a rogue’s gallery of characters – from Pongo the Dalmatian to Eeyore the Donkey! As the investigation unfolds, you’ll get to join the fun and cheer on the dogs as they sniff out the truth.
It’s fast, it’s funny, and it shows just how clever and capable our dogs are when they use their natural scenting abilities.
