The Vet Says Rest
Has your vet says you can’t walk your dog while they recover from an illness, injury or operation?
Does your dog have an operation planned for the future?
Any dog can get injured at any time. Basil the dachshund damaged his back jumping off the sofa resulting in the need for major surgery. Ted the German Shepherd broke his leg playing ball with his owner in the garden.
It can be very distressing when a dog suddenly ends up needing to be restricted to a crate for several weeks when recovering from an illness, injury or operation. The increase in stress can result in a longer recovery time as the dog struggles to adapt to the sudden change in routine and lack of walks.
Laura wrote this book after helping many of her training clients who ended up in this situation and had no one to turn to for help. Vets are fantastic at looking after the dogs medical needs, but don’t have the time to help get dogs used to wearing new equipment like a cone, and activities to maintain the dogs wellbeing whilst on rest.
The book includes information on:
- How to prepare your dog for an upcoming operation
- Introducing equipment such as a cone, crate and ramp to your dog so they love using them
- Adapting your house to cater for your dogs physical restrictions
- Activities to enrich your dogs five senses without leaving the house
- Antics to entertain a dog on rest
- Scentwork – a new hobby for you and your dog.
